  • Overview

    VETS, Inc, is looking to add a Network Engineer to our growing team. This is an immediate need working onsite in Washington, DC.  This position requires management and leadership skills. This position requires a public trust clearance.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for ensuring that the facility complies with all applicable codes and engineering requirements and network standards; that the OEM-specified environment is maintained; and ensuring compliance with the engineering limitations of structures within the facility.
    • Monitor all maintenance activities for the contract, including maintenance of network systems and backup power systems and perform the hardware performance and reliability analysis, when required.
    • Design, implement and support Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), power distribution with support of electrical and mechanical calculations required to maintain a data center environment;
    • As required read, analyze and interpret Technical Procedures, Blue Prints/Diagrams, Building Codes, and OSHA Codes; and solid understanding of NEC Code, and data processing environments.
    • Prepare routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
    • Network engineering support including DataCenter deployments, power specs and requirements, datacenter footprints, rack elevation solutions
    • As needed support/oversee cabling, racking and stacking. transceiver/media types, fiber & copper types and uses
    • Provide firewall base structure for rules and policies
    • As needed support remote VPN solution capabilities with 2 factor authentication utilizing digital certificates

    Qualifications

    Required Skills:

     

    • Experience with Cisco Nexus 5K, FEX 2K switches and ASR1000 routers
    • Experience with troubleshooting cisco AnyConnect remote VPN client
    • Strong experience with DataCenter power requirements, UPS implementation and management
    • Experience with DataCenter deployments, power specs and requirements, datacenter footprints, rack elevation solutions
    • Experience with cabling, racking and stacking. transceiver/media types, fiber & copper types and uses
    • Experience with firewall base structure for rules and policies
    • Experience with remote VPN solution capabilities with 2 factor authentication utilizing digital certificates
    • Understanding of Site-to-site VPN, IP Addressing, NAT, ACL, Multipath configuration of network devices, dynamic and static routing
    • Experience with Cisco 3560, 3750 stackable Switches, VLANS, Trunking, STP, Ether channel
    • Understanding of Networking, LAN, and security systems/port security
    • Experience with IP address management
    • Excellent customer service skills 

    BS in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field

    This positions requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residency due to security clearance requirements
