  • Overview

    VETS Inc. is hiring for a full time Senior Acquistion Analyst to support one of our Government contracts in Reston, VA or at the Pentagon.


    *This position is contingent upon award.


    The Senior Acquisition Analyst will assist in planning, developing and maintaining document management policies, guidelines and procedures; provide strategic planning and conduct research and analysis in support of program and budget activities; and derive technical and programmatic information, preparing Executive summaries, briefings, point papers, and other products as necessary to apprise the ODASA(R&T) leadership of relevant issues and developments related to budgetary, programmatic, and technical concerns.


    • Review and evaluate the impact of Statute, National, DoD, and Government policies that affect Army Acquisition capability areas; provide recommendations to address the impacts of such policies.
    • Prepare executive analysis of acquisition-related sections of the annual National Defense Authorization Act, from its introduction through passage into law, in order to inform senior Army leader decision making in support of acquisition reform initiatives.
    • Develop recommendations for senior leaders to effect change in the Army, DoD, and in future legislation to ease the impact of burdensome processes and regulations impacting Army initiatives.
    • Organize analysis and track implementation of applicable sections of the NDAA 2016 to present; provide status reports or up-to-date assessments as requested.
    • Prepare and review existing and draft policy and guidance changes and implementation plans; ensure publications are consistent with guidance.
    • Review publications and other written communication for clarity; provide editorial inputs to improve clarity.
    • Ensure Army interests are fully articulated within guidance.
    • Review and provide recommendations on existing and proposed Army acquisition and capability area policies and implementation
    • Prepare correspondence and staff action summaries in support of policy review and preparation


    Required Skills:

    • 5-10 years experience supporting acquisition programs at Army, other Service or Joint levels;
    • Comprehensive understanding of policy, requirements, modernization, and acquisition strategies, and plans U.S. military services;
    • Knowledge of how to integrate the Army’s capabilities with other Services, US government agencies, and foreign government partners;
    • Knowledge of formal and informal procedures and processes for resourcing DoD and developing national security and military strategy (PPBES);
    • Knowledge of DoDI, AR 70-1 5000-series Program Acquisition, and Systems Engineering documentation and process is essential.
    • Secret clearance
    • Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics, statistics or a business/management discipline
    • Graduate MEL 1, Senior Service College or equivalent

    Desired Skills:

    • DAWIA Level III Certification;
    • Experience with concept to capability and gap analysis
    • Experience with force development, acquisition processes and management
    • Top Secret clearance
    • Graduate of SAMS or Army Strategist Program
    • Graduate of Senior Service College
    • Experience with recent Change Management work.
