    Describe the responsibilities of the position (what will the employee be doing)


    The Junior Audio/Video Technician will assist in efforts to facilitate A/V production and event needs. The technician will be responsible for support and maintenance of audio/visual equipment by performing the following duties: Scheduling various conference rooms, perform preventive and minor equipment maintenance, using available resources, operate touch screens, projectors, DVD players, laptop computers, video cameras, streaming equipment, and sound recording equipment, setup and operate sound equipment to include, but not limited to: speakers, microphones, wireless microphones, mixing boards, video cameras, amplifiers, switchers, and streaming equipment. Must maintain accurate records of completed and pending jobs, be able to work off hours/weekends if required, and other duties as assigned.


    Additional Duties and Responsibilities include:

    • Have the ability to provide Audio and Video support for the New Enterprise Classroom Modernization (ECM) here at Fort Knox KY.
    • Maintaining VTC bridge management application to provide connectivity of conference calls at variable data rates so as to balance quality of connection with the customer's demand signal.
    • Maintaining scheduling calendars for Audio/Video facilities.
    • Tracking Audio and Video support requirements and capabilities required for A/V facilities.
    • Providing support for and facilitate the execution of conference related needs via phone, e-mail, or face-to-face requests.
    • Supporting the testing and troubleshooting of equipment, devices, components, systems and methodologies, including evaluation of test data; working directly with VTC techs and customers to resolve issues at the Tier 3 level.
    •  Perform Audio/Video support functions and have a thorough knowledge of Global Video Services (GVS) and Dedicated Video Teleconferencing (DVS‐G).


    Required skills:


    • Experience ensuring all hardware and software is maintained in compliance with current DoD Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) mandates.   
    • Ability to simultaneously support multiple audio and video events at multiple facilities, while working independently.
    • Have a strong knowledge of products of major vendors such as CISCO, AMX, Polycom, Tandberg, Crestron, Extron, Adtran, and various cryptographic equipment services through Defense Collaboration Services (DCS).
    • DISA Secure Video Teleconferencing

    Desired Skills:

    • Experience with integrating multiple vendor solutions and should have some understanding of IP, ISDN, and DISA's future plans to support DoD video
    • Have strong customer service skills.
